About Dog Groomer

Hello, my name is Ai.

 

I am Japanese and I have been dog grooming for over 17 years. I studied animal health and grooming at school for 3 years and worked at a pet grooming salon and animal hospital. I also ran my own dog grooming business in Tokyo for 10 years before moving to NZ.

 

I have setup a home-based dog grooming service at Gibbston Valley, not only because I love working with dogs but to allow me the opportunity to provide my dog grooming skills to new clients. I also love to see beautifully groomed dogs getting a lot of attention and love from their owners. 

 

Over the years I have met so many wonderful dogs, they give me much pleasure. I groom dogs whatever their temperament because I believe the right approach and kindness will change their view and that they will start enjoying the grooming experience. I realize some dogs have had bad grooming experience or negative feeling.

 

I believe grooming should be a pleasurable experience so that if the dogs are nervous, aggressive or old with aches and pain, I will work with them. They will never be hurried and extra time will be allocated for this.

 

I am taking in a limited number of dogs per day to leave me the time to be able to fully get to know my clients and their specific wants and needs.
